Sand Shape Level 288 Solution

Level Overview

Level 288 of Sand Shape presents a grid puzzle where the objective is to fill the entire board with various colored Tetris-like shapes. The top left of the screen shows the required shapes you need to place, while the top right indicates the number of 'similar' correct shapes, which seems to be a score or progress tracker. The puzzle board has several pre-existing brown blocks that act as obstacles, limiting where pieces can be placed. Players must drag and drop the available shapes from the bottom tray onto the grid, rotating them as necessary to fit into the empty spaces. The goal is to completely fill the grid without leaving any empty cells or overlapping pieces. There's a timer at the top, implying a time limit for completion, and hints and undo options are available at the bottom.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Drag the pink L-shape piece and place it in the bottom-left corner of the grid, filling two squares vertically and two horizontally, with the L-bend pointing right.
2. Drag the yellow L-shape piece and place it to the right of the pink piece, filling the space above the bottom-right brown block.
3. Drag the green L-shape piece and place it above the yellow piece, extending leftwards.
4. Drag the light blue L-shape piece and place it in the top-right corner, filling the space above the green piece and to the right of the top-right brown block.
5. Drag the purple L-shape piece and place it to the left of the light blue piece, filling the remaining space in the top row.
6. Drag the dark red L-shape piece and place it to the left of the purple piece, filling the space next to the top-left brown block.
7. Drag the light green L-shape piece and place it below the dark red piece, filling the space to the left of the middle-left brown block.
8. Drag the orange L-shape piece and place it below the light green piece, connecting to the pink piece and filling the remaining space in the bottom-left area.
9. Drag the blue L-shape piece and place it in the center-right area, filling the space below the light blue piece and to the right of the middle-right brown block.
10. Drag the remaining light yellow L-shape piece and place it in the last empty spot in the middle, completing the puzzle.

Pro Tips

• Start by placing larger or uniquely shaped pieces first, as they often have fewer possible placements.
• Focus on filling corners and edges to create more manageable central areas.
• Visualize how pieces can be rotated to fit into different orientations.
• Pay attention to the 'Required Shapes' panel to anticipate upcoming pieces.
• Use the hint button if you get stuck, but try to solve it independently first.
• Work methodically, filling one section of the board at a time.

Common Mistakes

• Attempting to place pieces without considering their rotation, leading to inefficient use of space.
• Ignoring the brown immovable blocks, which are key constraints for piece placement.
• Rushing and placing pieces randomly, which can lead to unfillable gaps later on.
• Not checking the 'Required Shapes' and running out of the correct pieces for a specific area.
• Forgetting to use the undo button if a placement doesn't work out.
• Overlooking small, single-square gaps that can be easily missed.
